The streets of Garrison Green were originally named after places where Canadian troops had served on peacekeeper missions. Following the CFB base closure, it was decided to rename the streets in honour of actual Canadian peacekeepers – 13 in total. Plaques can found at the street corners to identify who these people were. Today, the neighbourhood is well kept and maintained by its residents.
