Christmas was very difficult for many people in Saint John this year due to power outages lasting days due to an ice storm. Fortunately, my family was not affected.
- I noticed this beautiful sunset, just a day or two before the ice storm hit.
- The roads in my parents’ neighbourhood are usually bare for most of the winter, but are now very bumpy.
- My parents’ cedar trees are barely standing up to the weight of the ice.
- A neighbour’s tree broke in half, blocking most of the roadway.
- Another neighbour’s house is barely visible through the icy trees.
- Overhanging trees make walking along University Avenue a little dangerous.
- The ice storm has made life difficult for many over Christmas, but it sure is beautiful during this sunset.
- The Brentwood tower in Millidgeville is overshadowed by the icy trees ahead of it.
- The ice makes these trees glow as the sun sets.
