The town of Stanley on the south of Hong Kong Island offers a change of pace from the busy atmosphere of the denser parts of Hong Kong. It is near the beautiful, but oddly named Repulse Bay, which is anything but repulsive.
- I managed to arrive on a holiday, making the area packed with people.
- The Main Street waterfront. Many boats anchored near the shore.
- Views of the ocean are one of the main attractions.
- Many sailboats are out.
- Being able to walk up next to a natural shoreline is an activity I don’t get to do very often anymore.
- The small Pak Tai Temple is accessible only by foot after walking through a park.
- The temple is right next to the ocean, and has stairs leading down the rocks by the water.
