Nose Hill Park is one of the largest municipal parks in North America, and is best described as a retreat from city life, and an oasis in which to enjoy nature. Since being designated a protected area in the 1980’s, Nose Hill is one of Calgary’s success stories in preservation.
I visited Nose Hill on several different days just before sunset. Perhaps you will share my view that this park can be simply majestic at times.

- From Nose Hill, you can see the mountains. The University of Calgary is visible at the lower left.

- Snow is still melting in this picture. Nose Hill is a great place to visit at all times of the year.

- Most of Nose Hill is grassland, but there is a small lake inside.

- At sunset, the lake glows with golden colours.

- Nose Hill is a great place to enjoy the dramatic storybook clouds that Calgary enjoys during the spring months.

- A rainbow touches down toward the city skyline.

- The park is popular with cyclists. It’s a fairly easy ride given that the park is mostly flat.

- “God rays” emerge from the sky.
