Now that I have moved in, the city has decided there is enough traffic to warrant the installation of new lights in the intersection outside my window.
- I woke up to see this commotion outside my window. In this shot, you can also see the French pastry shop across decorated for the holidays.
- The biggest addition is the lights which cover the full width of the street, being attached to existing street lamp posts. Note that the main traffic lights in horizontal. In my hometown of Saint John, lights like this are usually vertical.
- One side of the horizontal poll is secured.
- Additional street light elements are laying on the sidewalk, waiting to be installed. I find it interesting that the vertical lights do not come with the top protectors above the individual lights preinstalled.
- One of Calgary’s finest assists a bus driver when backing up. The driver had gone too far and couldn’t proceed due to the road closure ahead. It’s great to see city staff work together to prevent small problems from being an issue.
- The city skyline is looking good from here!
