It’s been foggy a lot in Calgary lately. The lights from the city are visible glowing through the fog when viewed from my balcony.
In this particular view, you can clearly see the different kinds of lighting used. On the left, I believe we have sodium or mercury-vapor bulbs, whereas the parking lots on the right might be using LED or some other type of bulb that outputs true white light.
I found a news article which discusses how the choice of lighting in New York and Los Angeles is affecting the choices of where to film by movie producers.
